CATLIN staff participated in the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) US Marine Corps Engineering and Construction Camp in June at MCB Camp Lejeune. Mike E. Mason and Kameron Smith represented CATLIN and the SAME Cape Fear Post at the STEM Camp.
In May 2018 CATLIN was awarded a $4M two year contract with the NCDOT to support the Geotechnical Engineering Unit on roadway projects throughout the state. The work consists of a variety of activities associated with geotechnical investigations, infiltration basin studies, foundation design and testing, GeoEnvironmental assessment, remediation and contaminated media management on transportation projects.
CATLIN is contracted by the City of Greenville for coordination, planning, design, oversight and on-site management of contaminated water and soil treatment and disposal during the Town Creek Culvert Drainage Improvement Project. Our field personnel work closely with the City of Greenville, the Greenville Utility Commission, and the construction contractor. The project broke ground on March 15, 2018 and is expected to last 2.5 years.
Construction Underway at the Known Distance Outdoor Ranges Safety Improvements Project at MCB Camp Lejeune NC
Construction is underway to improve the safety and operations of the existing Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Known-Distance Ranges used for Rifle Marksmanship Training at the Marine Corps Installations East – Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune NC. Improvements consists of demolition of existing range infrastructure and facilities and the reconstruction of the target safety walls, retaining walls and range support facilities.
Congratulations to our own Mike E. Mason on his induction into the SAME Academy of Fellows Class of 2018 on March 7, 2018 at a ceremony held in Bethesda, MD. He was one of 25 new members inducted this year from across the country.
